Can GigaTrak meet my specific needs?
GigaTrak is committed to delivering superior barcode-software solutions that meet and exceed the needs of our clients. The off-the-shelf systems generally meet these needs; however if there are other requests or requirements, GigaTrak offers custom work and can provide you with a personalized plan.
Can I grow with GigaTrak?
GigaTrak’s products are designed with the future in mind. Upgrades are simple, and free if you choose to take advantage of our Support Agreement. By your command, functionality and additional users can be added as your business needs expand. In addition, GigaTrak takes suggestions and requests for additions and changes to current software systems.
Can GigaTrak integrate with my existing business software?
GigaTrak’s software products are designed to be standalone products. However, because you have full access to the database upon purchase, you or the provider of your choice can provide the software interface to provide integration needs. GigaTrak can also provide that customization for you.
There are various functions in the GigaTrak applications that allow users to work with tab-delimited files that work easily with Excel as well as e-mail options that run with Outlook.
To find out more specific information regarding integration, contact our sales team by e-mailing sales@gigatrak.com or by calling 262-657-5500 ext. 1.
Do you have one product that does everything?

How flexible are GigaTrak applications?
Our goal is to design products that make logical sense, are intuitive to use and provide the functionality required. We don’t bulk up our products with fluff just to inflate appearances. We keep it simple and directed towards providing the functionality you need, in a package you can quickly and easily work with, at a price you can afford.
That said, we also know each business process may well have its own unique terminology for various aspects of the business. So, we’ve set up specific and global variables that the user can “redefine” if one word makes more sense than another. There are various setup modifications that allow the user to customize the software’s terminology to meet their particular needs.
From tracking tools to monitoring student equipment, from documenting corporate assets to tracking contractor rental equipment, GigaTrak applications offer flexibility that open up a variety of possibilities for our software users – in a very simple, flexible way.
How do I know which GigaTrak product is right for me?

There is not a difference in cost between the GigaTrak applications’ versions as we license our software strictly based on the number of users running the software. Your application’s version will be dependent upon how your company PC and server infrastructure is set up.

What labels are recommended for tagging assets and inventory?
Label specifications include: type, material, adhesive, and surface preparation. For industrial tools, we typically recommend pre-printed metallic labels. These tend to be durable and strong. If items are not subject to extreme conditions, a polypropylene label is often a good solution. GigaTrak supplies either type of labels as well as supporting hardware for creating your own label.
What kind of warranty comes with GigaTrak’s software application?
The basic software warranty for any of our off-the-shelf systems is 90 days. During that period, clients may call us with any questions or issues on installation, set-up, or configuration and we’ll be there to support you.
As an extended option, you can purchase our support agreement in which you’ll be entitled to phone support and software upgrades that are made to the product throughout the period of the agreement.
What kind of warranty comes with the handheld and hardware products?
Our key vendors (LXE, Honeywell, Datalogic, Intermec, Motorola/Symbol, and Zebra) manufacture some of the best products in the world. These products range from data-collection devices, to barcode scanners and printers to handheld computer terminals. The manufacturers’ warranties will vary, but as a standard, none are less than 1-year. Depending on the manufacturer, the warranty could last up to 5 years. In addition, most vendors offer “no-fault” extended maintenance options that last from 1-5 years. That way, if you break it, and it can be fixed, it’s covered.
Total expected cost to implement?
Total expected cost to implement varies depending on the amounts you purchase. When creating a quote, GigaTrak considers hardware, software, and labor costs per project. However, we promise to give you only the tools needed to succeed with our systems; nothing more, nothing less.
Total expected implementation time (start to finish)?
Total expected implementation time also varies among users and involves several factors. Implementation time depends on availability of necessary supporting information, manpower, and focus. Most users can begin implementing within one week of purchase.
The key to streamlining a successful implementation is to create a plan and roadmap of how you want to organize your system, and then follow it.
What factors should be considered as we move forward?
- Setup—How will your system will be set up (network or standalone) and (access or SQL)?
- Users—How many licenses will your setup need?
- Hardware—Which kind of hardware options will you need?
- Functions—What kind of functionality do you want your system to have? Are you looking for an off-the-shelf solution or custom work?
